It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Dr. Miles McKee. Dr. McKee was a beloved KSU professor, advisor, and friend to many, leaving a great impact on the KSU ASI department. From the KSU ASI Facebook page, “His legacy will live on as we celebrate his contributions to our department, the University and the many students and industry stakeholders he touched.”
Dr. McKee was born in Cottonwood Falls, KS and received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Kansas State University and went on to receive his Ph.D from the University of Kentucky in 1968. His livestock experience was gained through working on multiple operations, and was appointed as assistant instructor and beef cattle herdsman at Kansas State in 1959.
Dr. McKee has made a lasting impression on not only K-State, but the livestock industry as a whole. He will be greatly missed and our condolences go out to the entire McKee family.
