In February, Kansas State University Swine Club members attended the American Association of Swine Veterinarians (AASV) Annual Conference in New Orleans. All of the swine club attendees are second year veterinary students at KSU College of Veterinary Medicine. KPA helped sponsor the trip, which provided the opportunity for attendees to hear about current health issues in swine medicine and how they are being handled.

“We want to thank the KPA for your contribution,” said Maxwell Beal, second year vet student. “We had an excellent time, made a ton of connections and learned about the swine industry from the perspective of practicing veterinarians. It was truly an invaluable experience.”

The KSU Swine Club has been in existence for approximately 20 years and is an affiliate of the national AASV organization. The club aims to increase interest in swine medicine as well as teach those who are interested how to best serve the industry.
