The annual Kansas ProStart Invitational was held last week in Wichita and hosted high schools from across the state. The Kansas Pork Association supported the event as both an event sponsor and a management judge.
The ProStart Invitational is a premier high school competition focused on restaurant management and culinary arts. It offers students an opportunity to showcase industry skills they learn in the classroom, network with industry leaders and learn the skills necessary for a long-term career.
Student chefs from around the state compete for the chance to represent Kansas at the National ProStart Invitational in April.
The first place teams in the culinary and management competitions also earn the right to represent Kansas at the National ProStart Invitational April 28-30, in North Charleston, SC.
The Kansas ProStart Invitational is a highlight of the Restaurant Management Program curriculum sponsored by the Kansas Restaurant and Hospitality Association Educational Foundation.
