Kansas Pork Association staff participated in an African Swine Fever planning exercise last week that was hosted by the Kansas Department of Agriculture. The exercise was designed to challenge the state’s existing foreign animal disease response plan, while focusing on mitigation and response issues that may be unique for ASF.

Topics discussed included surveillance and diagnostics, quarantine and movement control, cleaning and disinfection, and more. Other participants included state emergency management personnel, KDOT, veterinarians, state animal health personnel and more.
